Giving Garden
KIK’s communal cultivation of food in our orchard and garden fosters resilience, bestows numerous health benefits to our community, and helps individuals and families learn the importance of growing organic food for themselves and to freely give to those with food insecurity. By educating hālau members and community members of our cultural practices of land stewardship, kuleana, nutrition, and providing the space to successfully grow their own organic food, we strengthen our community’s abilities to grow life-sustaining food.
